Lyndon B. Johnson was Senate majority leader in the 1950s when he owned this house. He became President of the United States in 1963 after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Johnson served all four federally elected offices of the U.S.: Representative, Senator, Vice President, and President. He passed away in 1973.
