Thomas A. Daffron and Susan M. Collins bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 30 14th St. N.E. in Capitol Hill North from Nantucket Holdings Ltd. for $705,000 on Jan. 3.

Nantucket Holdings Ltd. paid $235,000 for the property in Aug. 2010. The 1,440-square-foot house was built in 1914 in Capitol Hill Historic District.

Daffron is a chief operating officer at Jefferson Consulting Group. He oversees the firm's administrative and financial functions as well as the day-to-day operations. Prior to joining Jefferson Consulting Group as COO, he held a variety of senior management positions in government and the private sector. He served as chief of staff to Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, chief of staff to two other Senators, Fred Thompson of Tennessee and William Cohen of Maine. He also served as the National Campaign Manager for the presidential campaign of Elizabeth Dole.

He holds a master's degree from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree from Brown University.

Ms. Collins is a junior United States Senator from Maine and a member of the Republican Party. She is the 15th woman in history to be elected to the Senate.

She graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
