Philip Esocoff and Amy Weinstein bought a five-bedroom, five-bath home at 3005 Normanstone Dr. N.W. in Woodley Park from Barrie Kessler for $1.86 million on April 14.

Kessler paid $1.425 million for the property in April 2003. The 3,254-square-foot home was built in 1959 in the Woodland-Normastone Terrance subdivision.

Esocoff is a founding principal at Esocoff & Associates/Weinstein Studio, a Washington, D.C.-based architectural firm.

He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He received a diploma in polyhedral structures from the Architectural Association in London.

Weinstein is also a principal at Esocoff & Associates/Weinstein Studio.

She has held visiting professorships at the University of Virginia, the University of Maryland and the University of Oklahoma. She also served on the boards of the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Review Board and the Baltimore Architectural Review Board.

She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.

Kessler has been chief operating officer at SoundExchange, a non-profit performance rights organization based in D.C.

She previously was a principal of the information technology consulting firm Rock Creek Systems. Before that, she was director of systems at RSA Inc. in D.C. She also was a database consultant for Price Waterhouse and DOS Computer Center in Madrid, Spain.

She received a B.S. in accounting and economics from Lehigh University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 36 home sales in Woodley Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $995,000.
