Barry LaSala and Frannie Wellings bought a four-bedroom, four-bath home at 5246 Loughboro Road N.W. in Washington D.C. from Halley Finkelstein Ascher and Jennifer L. Digiacinto for $1.135 million on Nov. 9.
Ascher and Digiacinto bought the property for $1.225 million on Nov. 2006. The 3,602-square-foot house was built in 1953 in the Kent neighborhood.
LaSala is a lobbyist with Elmendorf Strategies, a D.C. lobbying firm closely associated with the Democratic Party.
Before he joined Elmendorf, he was director of federal government affairs at Microsoft Corp. He also was counsel to Sen. John F. Kerry and associate at the law firm Dewey Ballantine LLP.
He graduated from Frostburg State University and received his M.A. in international affairs from American University. He obtained his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
Wellings works as a legislative assistant to Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND).
She previously was a fellow at the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
She received her B.S. from Arizona State University and her M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 4,268 home sales in Washington, D.C. during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $370,000.
