Yukiko Omura sold a three-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 4014 Highwood Court N.W. in Washington, D.C. to Faye C. Laing for $1.365 million on Nov. 4.
Omura paid $1,110,000 for the property in May 2004. The 2,420-square-foot house was built in 1989 in the Burleith neighborhood.
Omura is executive vice presdient of MIGA for the World Bank Group.
She has held multiple executive roles in the international financial sector and worked in all major financial centers in New York, London and Tokyo, including JPMorgan, Lehman Bros., UBS Japan and Dresdner Bank. Earlier, she was a project economist in the infrastructure sector with the Inter-American Development Bank in D.C. She also founded the HIV/AIDS Prevention Fund in 2002, a London-based charitable company.
She received her B.S. in economics from London University and her M.A. in development economics and M.A. in political economics from Boston University.
According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 4,200 home sales in Washington, D.C. during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $370,000.
