Mark D. Wallace and Nicolle Wallace sold a five-bedroom, six-bath home at 4434 Hawthorne St. NW in Washington to Whitney Dickinson Sachs for $2.45 million on Sept. 9.

The Wallaces acquired the property for $2.8 million in April 2005. The 4,111-square-foot house was built in 1927 in the Wesley Heights neighborhood.

Mr. Wallace is the president of United Against Nuclear Iran, an advocacy organization that seeks to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

He previously served in various executive positions at the United Nations, was U.S. ambassador to the U.N., and was principal legal adviser to the Bureau of Immigration and Citizenship Services and Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He also was campaign manager in the 2004 presidential campaign for Bush-Cheney and formerly was counsel at Akerman Senterfitt in their Washington D.C. office.

Ms. Wallace formerly was assistant to the president for communications for former President George W. Bush and was campaign adviser for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

She previously held executive positions at the White House, worked with former Florida Gov. Jed Bush and with the Californian Republican Party. She also had worked with the California based public relations firm, Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger.

She received her mass communications degree from the University of California–Berkeley and master's degree from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,143 sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
