Paul Louis Cichello and Camila Maria Chaparro bought a three-bedroom, three-bath home at 1457 Northgate Road N.W. in Shepherd Park from Helen L. Stanard for $510,000 on July 21.

The 1,462-square-foot house was built in 1955.

Cichello, a senior economist, is an employment and shared growth team consultant at the World Bank Group. He is also an economics professor at Loyola College in Maryland.

He has worked with the international economics department in the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

He received his Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University.

There were 18 home sales in the Shepherd Park in 2008, with a median sales price of $510,000.
